Call for NGOs is now open !

Tech4Dev is an International Cooperation Acceleration Program for Research and Innovation aimed at contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Low- and Middle-Income countries (LMICs).

In a world at a crossroads, urgent global action is needed. As we approach the year 2030, there’s a growing urgency to accelerate progress on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) outlined in the 2030 Agenda. To participate in addressing this challenge, EPFL and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) are launching the second edition of Tech4Dev, an acceleration program for Sustainable Development dedicated to Low- and Middle-Income Countries.

Our Innovative Approach

We catalyze cross-sector collaboration between NGOs, scientific community (from EPFL and others Universities) and local stakeholders with the support of Governments and International Organizations (IO) to be as close as possible to the needs of the population and ensure a long term impact. Each project is initiated, financed and supported by Tech4Dev to progress in their journey.

International research partnerships

NGOs, local partners, and researchers work together towards a shared goal from the very beginning. Determining questions, approaches, andmethods jointly is a first important step towards more equity in cooperation, shared ownership and mutual trust.

Human-centered design

Local communities are at the heart of the development process, allowing us to create solutions tailored to the needs of the populations.

Sustainable impact

We ensure that all the solutions are driven by the goal of being deployed, sustainably and at a larger scale.

Program Design

Our program is structured into five distinct phases. Different grants will be awarded to the selected projects according to the phases (Exploration, Prototyping, and Pilot).
